Christa Marie Thompson, OSF, PhD

Director:  Provides overall leadership and management of the Franciscan Spiritual Center (including Clare House and Hermitages).   Christa taught at Neumann University for years and was Vice President for Mission in St. Joseph Hospital, Reading, PA.  She continues to offer educational and spiritual programs and retreats.  Her creativity knows no bounds as she utilizes her photography and writing skills in every aspect of the Spiritual Center.

Marie Angela Presenza, OSF

Program Coordinator:  Responsible for designing, marketing, coordinating and implementing all programs.  Marie Angela has extensive professional experience as an educator and administrator  and has been involved in programs at parishes in which she ministered   She brings a heart filled with warmth and hospitality and an eye for design that makes our Spiritual Center decor speak the language of God simply by being.

Julia Keegan, OSF


Webmaster and Spiritual Director:  Julie is responsible for the creation and upkeep of our new Website for the Franciscan Spiritual Center as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages and the Center’s Blog, in addition, she oversees certain publications and the e-newsletter.  She is a program presenter and helps with hospitality and Spiritual Direction.   Her ministries included Cardiovascular Clinical Nurse Specialist, teaching nursing at Neumann College,  hospital administration, and data analysis in our Development Office.

CClare d'aurialare Andrew D’Auria, OSF

Retreat Ministry and Spiritual Direction:  Clare is a program presenter and spiritual director. For half of her forty-five years in ministry, Clare has served in retreat work, offering spiritual direction, directed and conference retreats, as well as numerous workshops in Franciscan spirituality.  Clare also serves as a staff member of the Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs in Assisi, Italy.  Her other ministerial experience has included congregational and provincial leadership, secondary and collegiate education, and a variety of additional administrative roles both within and outside of her congregation.

Patricia Hamill, SSJ

Registrar:  Pat is a Sister of St. Joseph who enjoys her ministry at the Franciscan Spiritual Center.  She is primarily responsible for  program registration of sponsored programs and retreats, serves as receptionist, provides administrative support to the Director, and assists with hosting of Center guests.  Pat received her M.Ed. from Xavier University and has had experience in education as teacher and administrator.  Prior to joining the FSC staff, Pat ministered as administrative assistant at the former Precious Blood Spiritual Center in Lancaster. County.

budzikHelen Budzik, OSF

Hosting and Marketing:  Helen is responsible for coordinating, hosting groups and managing facilities of the Franciscan Spiritual Center. Helen also handles the Center’s bookkeeping.  She also ministers as Candidate Director for our congregation.  She has served in elementary and secondary education and administration as well as in pastoral ministry.  Her study and writing on Franciscan spirituality, as well as her theology and pastoral studies degrees, enrich her ministry as a certified spiritual director and as a supervisor for spiritual directors at Neumann University.

Mary Agnes Walsh, OSFMary Walsh

Spiritual Direction and Focusing:  Mary’s ministry includes spiritual direction, directed  retreats, offering workshops in focusing and centering prayer.  With an MA in Pastoral Counseling, she is certified in spiritual direction, a supervisor for spiritual direction at Neumann University, and a Focusing Trainer.   She has experience in elementary education and parish ministry and has a strong desire to support others in various prayer modalities that will open their heart to God

Jean Ustasiewski, OSFustasiewski

Clare House Registrar:  Jean oversees maintenance, hospitality and the calendar for Clare House.  Previously Jean served the congregation as the director of its associate program, Franciscan Companions in Mission, and as a pastoral counselor and school guidance counselor.   She offers guided retreats at Clare House and participates in the Franciscan Solitude Experience.
