A Woman’s Call to Holiness: St. Clare of Assisi and the Womb of Compassion (Weekend of Prayer for Women)

In his homily for the Solemnity of All Saints in 2013, Pope Francis said: “Being holy is not a privilege for the few. . .Holiness is a vocation for everyone. . .Saints, whether men or women, are instruments for reconciliation and peace and model the way to holiness by following the way of the Gospel.”  St. Clare of Assisi is such a ‘model’ who can show us a unique way in which we, as women, can respond to this call to holiness.  You will be invited on this weekend of prayer to explore Clare’s story to discover how her individual response to the Gospel as sister, servant, and mother, can offer us inspiration to follow the way of the Poor and Crucified Christ as we try to live in love and serve with compassion.
