DESCRIPTION: (This Event is closed — All places full — see September 19 for a second option of the same program.)
Archetypal psychologist James Hillman said, “There’s an innate wisdom in the process of aging and dying: the best wines have to be aged in cracked old barrels. The breakdown of our bodies deepens, softens, and matures the soul.” In using the images of the vine, the vineyard, and the wine which is their fruit, the Gospel of John provides us with some critical insights on the intrinsic relationship between celebration and suffering, and offers a challenging perspective on the way in which we view what can truly make our senior years “productive.” We invite you to join us for these days to reflect on how our own experience of aging “matures the soul.”
