“The commandment to remember to keep holy the Sabbath day” is the only commandment that begins with the word “remember” – as if it refers to something we have already forgotten” (Wayne Muller). Observing the Sabbath, however, is not simply about remembering to set aside one day a week to honor God. It is about choosing to frame our lives in such a way that we make conscious choices to step back regularly from our normal routine to refocus our attention and our energy on what is really important.
You are invited to take a “Sabbath” morning and gather with others once a month to remember and reflect on all that God is recreating in you while you take time to rest in God. These sessions will be guided by Father Rolheiser. Since the sessions are not entirely dependent on one another, you may choose to attend all or some. However, if interested in attending ANY of these sessions, you need to come to the introductory session on October 3.
