On Gaudete Sunday St. Paul tells us we should “rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4-7) and he repeats it for us in case we didn’t get it the first time. As we get closer and closer to Christmas there is a feeling of JOY in the air and yet there are the incongruous realities of troubles in our world that cause us turmoil or downright holiday blues because our families don’t fit the Currier and Ives picture of Christmas and yet the Scripture is clear – rejoice in the Lord always. Not only that, but St. Paul also tells us to let go of our worries and anxieties. Where is your heart this Christmas? Come away for a few hours to let JOY soak into your hearts and remember once again that JOY is a gift – even for you and me. Let’s open the GIFT of JOY together so that we can “Rejoice in the Lord Always”.
