Weekly Virtual Centering Prayer Group

Each Saturday, The Franciscan Spiritual Center sponsors a virtual group gathering for those who have been practicing centering prayer.  In the space of one hour there is a short reading from Thomas Keating, a 30 minute period of quiet centering prayer, 5 minute meditative walk, a 20 minute concluding quiet centering prayer and a closing prayer.   Each Friday a ZOOM Link is sent to all who register .  Prior to or after this hour, there can be time for supportive discussion and encouragement around centering prayer for those who wish.  The Logistics:  There is a different ZOOM Link for each week’s presentation and it will be emailed to you the day before each presentation.  If you are unfamiliar with ZOOM there are directions on the website under the Events/Retreat Tab:  https://fscaston.org/209234-2/.  .  For those interested who have never experienced centering prayer, the Franciscan Spiritual Center offers a virtual introduction to Centering Prayer, check the website (FSCAston.org) for dates and times.

Julia Keegan, OSF, a Sister of St. Francis of Philadelphia, is an associate staff member at the Franciscan Spiritual Center. Her ministry includes authoring the Center’s Blog, overseeing the website and other electronic social networks, giving retreats, doing spiritual direction and offering workshops on gratitude, Franciscan theology, and evolutionary spirituality. She has extensive professional experience in health care, nursing education, ethics, development, and has been involved in offering programs at parishes and health care institutions.
