Every Saturday , the Franciscan Spiritual Center sponsors a virtual group gathering for those who have been practicing centering prayer. In the space of one hour there is a short reading from Thomas Keating, a 30 minute period of quiet centering prayer, 5 minute meditative walk, a 20 minute concluding quiet centering prayer and a closing prayer.

If you are unfamiliar with ZOOM there are directions on the website under the Events/Retreat Tab: https://fscaston.org/209234-2/. Please be sure you are on ZOOM by 10:25 at the latest so that we are ready to begin at 10:30 without distractions. Prior to or after this hour, there can be time for supportive discussion and encouragement around centering prayer for those who wish. If you want to share or discuss you can access the ZOOM Link at 10 AM. For those interested but who have never experienced centering prayer, please contact Sr. Julia Keegan at the Franciscan Spiritual Center at 610-558-6449.
I encourage you to register online (book a ticket) so we know who is joining us on any particular day. The cost is a free will offering. If you register online you need to put an amount into the box but it could be 0.00. Any amount allows you to register.
Julia Keegan, OSF, a Sister of St. Francis of Philadelphia, is an associate staff member at the Franciscan Spiritual Center. Her ministry includes authoring the Center’s Blog, overseeing the website and other electronic social networks, giving retreats, doing spiritual direction and offering workshops on gratitude, Franciscan theology, and evolutionary spirituality. She has extensive professional experience in health care, nursing education, ethics, development, and has been involved in offering programs at parishes and health care institutions.
