“The Story of Martha and Mary”: Befriending Sisterhood (Weekend of Prayer for Women)

$140.00

The potential for deep connections in relationships among women may have been compromised in recent years by the sometimes casual way in which Facebook adherents easily switch from “friending” to “un-friending” another subscriber.  As Always, the Gospel offers a viable alternative to the kind of thoughtless “clicking” that might result in severing a relationship with someone significant.  The sisters of Bethany, Martha and Mary invite us to explore “befriending” as a process of rediscovering the meaning of true and lasting friendship.  (There is NO LONGER any room for RESIDENTS — only Commuteres)

February 21-23, 2020 Starts Friday at 7 PM and ends Sunday at 11 AM

Cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien designates four universal archetypes which, when accessed in a balanced way, can facilitate an individual’s movement toward growth, wholeness, and holiness.  She is convinced that each of us needs to develop our own unique potential in the areas of leading, healing, visioning, and teaching.  Such an integration can empower us to offer the kind of wisdom that is uniquely ours: both as women and as disciples of Jesus Christ, the Wisdom of God.  You are invited to explore the beauty of these four paths, walking with Jesus as your companion and using the Gospel as your guide.

The sisters of Bethany, Martha and Mary, as they are presented in the Gospels of both Luke and John, invite us to explore “befriending” as a process of rediscovering the meaning of true and lasting friendship.  We will befriend ourselves, how to be-a-friend to another, and how to keep the “Face” of our most faithful Friend, Jesus, ever on the “homepage” of our hearts. (When registering please choose an option of Resident or Commuter.  Resident means you will be staying overnight and need a bed and commuter means you will not be staying overnight and will not need a bed. )
